New Delhi, December 15:

Central intelligence agencies and city police have arrested the Bangalore executive, who reportedly operated the dreaded terror organisation Islamic State’s most influential Twitter account. A preliminary inquiry by police zeroed in on 24-year-old Biswas, who works as an executive at a prominent Indian corporate and stays in Bengaluru’s upscale southeast suburb.

“Biswas, who hails from West Bengal, moved to Bengaluru after his transfer a couple of years ago. A case has been registered against him under the Information Technology Act,” Additional Commissioner of Police Alok Kumar said.

The channel said that his tweets were seen two million times each month, making him perhaps the most influential Islamic State Twitter account, with over 17,700 followers. His tweets were seen by over two million times making the handle the most influential Twitter account for the Islamic State.
Mehdi told the channel that he was not a member of the Islamic State but approved of its actions. “I am not in contact with any Jihadist… Just because somebody follows me Twitter does mean that I told them to join the ISIS,” he said in a telephonic interview.

But After being contacted by Channel 4, Mehdi shut down his Twitter account. (Agencies)
