A TRIP TO “HELL”

A TRIP TO “HELL”

The condition of roads, sewer & sanitation at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Samaypur Badli, Delhi, Bharat [India] is pathetic. People there have to say that even there is no water in the area for the last 35 years. It was only when the area was designated as Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, the Asia’s largest transport hub/terminus at Delhi, that the roads and sewer lines were laid. Thereafter neither the Municipal Authorities nor the Water & Sewage owing agency, the Delhi Jal Board ever bothered to either maintain the same or replace the existing damaged lines or reconstruct the badly damaged and broken roads. “Whenever we lodge a complaint about the roads or sewer the Municipal Corporation (North Delhi) and Delhi Jal Board always gave a deaf ear.” a area resident said. They have even approached the Commissioner, North Delhi Municipal Corporation and the PWD Minister of Delhi Satyendra Jain including the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal who did not a bit in the matter despite repeated assurances. NDMC Commissioner also did not even bother to provide sanitation facilities in the area that resulted in huge dumps of garbage in the entire area making it most vulnerable to serious & Life-threatening health hazards. “We have not seen any Street Sweeper or cleaner in the area in the past maybe 30 years” said an area resident. It is surprising that the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal & the Commissioner North Delhi Municipal Corporation have both inspected the area several times but have taken no steps or measures to rectify the defects. In a most surprising and shocking matter, according to the area residents, the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal has asked the public to bring a NOC from the Municipal Authorities since it is directly under the control of the Central Government after which he would construct the Roads in the area. The Big Question here is “when the area is under such pathetic condition and is now worse than hell, Can’t the CM Delhi ask NDMC to give NOC to this effect so that he could get the same constructed through his own Public Works department directly functioning under him?” The still Bigger Question is “assuming that even if NDMC wasn’t giving NOC in the matter, and if CM Delhi gets the roads at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar constructed by PWD Delhi would he be penalized by NDMC? I fail to understand – why does a CM of any state wait for a NOC from any external agency to rectify the defects of his state and especially the pathetic condition giving rise to serious health hazards? Isn’t it really surprising that the leaders who promise even the moon to an aam aadmi (Common Man) before the elections, forget to give even water to them after the elections and after assuming power?
