India’s largest human flag breaks all world records

Chennai: On Sunday over 50,000 volunteers formed the largest human flag and set a new world record. Prior to this, it was set by Pakistan.

According to ISAK Nazar, organizer of the campaign ‘My flag My India ’ (Mera jhanda, Mera Bharat) informed that there were almost about 1.5 lakh volunteers, mainly comprising youth, were present at the YMCA Ground in support of the event – sources.

Previously, Sports Club of Lahore had set a record in ‘Guinness Book of World Record’ for making the largest human flag with 28,957 people.

Mr. Nazar said, “This is the first record of its kind in independent India and our aim was to infuse patriotism and nationalism in the present generation and next-generation youth. Youngsters formed the crux of the participants.”

Syeda Subasi, a Guinness official believes that this act of the Indians created history and established a new world record which was praiseworthy. The official felt that the Indians who participated in this showed their patriotism and affection towards their country.
